Stretch marks are narrow parallel lines that occur on the surface of the skin due to rapid growth such as during pregnancy, excessive weight gain or puberty.
Stretch marks occur when the skin is stretched during periods of rapid growth. Stretch marks typically affect the upper thighs and arms, the chest and abdomen.
Stretch marks can cause psychological distress, feelings of embarrassment and negative impact on body confidence.
At Sutton and Epsom Cosmetic Clinic, we offer a range of options for treatment of stretch marks. These include combination of microneedling (dermapen) and platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). For some individuals subcision may be indicated. Subcision involves breaking fibrotic strands that attach the skin to underlying tissue. Subcision is usually combined with Microneedling and PRP to achieve the best results.
The procedure is performed by Dr Baba, a highly trained and experienced aesthetic doctor who is also a senior trainer for this procedure at London Aesthetic Academy (www.londonaestheticacademy.co.uk)
