Frown lines are typically visible when frowning or squinting and appear as vertical lines between the eyebrows. These lines are also referred to as glabellar lines.
When we frown muscles in our face contract causing frown lines to appear. The muscles involved in frowning are the procerus and two corrugator muscles, one on each side of the procerus. Dynamic frown lines are apparent first (frown lines that are only visible whilst frowning) but with increased age frown lines can become static (frown lines visible even when we are not frowning).
Botox® is an effective treatment for the treatment of frown lines and for the majority of clients this treatment alone produces pleasing results. However, for clients affected by deep static lines (lines present without frowning) a combination of Botox® and dermal fillers may be required to produce the best results. We also offer a range of other treatments for frown line correction. These include Platelet Rich Plasma and for clients who would prefer not to have injectable treatments, we offer microneedling, chemical peels and microdermabrasion.
Dr Baba, a highly trained and experienced aesthetic doctor who is also a senior trainer for this procedure at London Aesthetic Academy (www.londonaestheticacademy.co.uk) will perform your procedure.
Adhering to a diet rich in antioxidants, smoking cessation, as well as avoiding sun beds and excessive sun exposure can all help to reduce the appearance of frown lines.
